I run AI Events on this site the way I test AI tools: check the primary source before repeating a number. Web Summit earns the coverage because AI and machine learning was the single largest sector on a 2,725-startup floor in 2025, roughly one in five. That’s a real signal about where AI founders show up to raise money. It is not a signal that Web Summit itself is an AI conference.
Web Summit 2026 dates and venue were previously wrong on this page
Web Summit 2026 runs November 9-12, 2026 at MEO Arena and FIL, Rossio dos Olivais, 1990-231 Lisbon, Portugal. That’s Web Summit’s own venue essentials page saying it directly, cross-checked against the homepage title, the tickets page, and the tracks page. All four agree.
The previous version of this page listed November 1-4, 2026. That matches no current Web Summit source. I corrected it. MEO Arena is the same building long known as Altice Arena (rebrand, same venue). FIL, Feira Internacional de Lisboa, sits next door and holds most of the startup floor.
If you are still reading a November 1-4 date on another site, it’s working from stale data. The four Web Summit pages I checked on 2026-08-24 all read November 9-12.
AI Summit is one of 20 tracks, not the whole show
Web Summit is a general technology and business conference. AI Summit is one track. So are Fintech Summit, SaaS Summit, Creative Summit, Marketing Summit, Developer Summit, and 15 others. One ticket covers all 20. There is no AI-only tier.
The honest framing: Web Summit is a broad tech show with a large AI programme inside it. It is not a rebrand of the whole event around AI, and this guide is not going to pretend otherwise.
That said, AI Summit is substantial. Web Summit lists IBM as the named AI Summit partner for this cycle. The track’s own page organizes 2026 themes around four questions: whether multi-agent systems are ready for mainstream deployment, the gap between AI-generated slop and genuine capability, whether the industry should accelerate or hold back given energy and hardware limits, and AI’s effects on employment and healthcare.
The marquee names in the “featured speakers” carousel (Sam Altman, Geoffrey Hinton, Anton Osika) show up almost identically across Web Summit’s Lisbon, Qatar, and Vancouver sites. That’s a past-speakers highlight reel. It is not a 2026 booking. Anyone using those names to sell you a Lisbon 2026 ticket is stretching what Web Summit actually confirmed.

Direct correction: the previous version of this page said General Attendee started “from €495.” That number matches nothing currently on Web Summit’s site. The floor today is €630.
General Attendee covers exhibition floor access, content across all 20 tracks, tailored networking, meetup invites, Night Summit, and masterclasses. VIP adds evening receptions, meeting spaces, catering, and priority registration. Chairperson adds Speaker Lounge access and fast-tracked entrance.
Web Summit is an over-18s event by its own FAQ. There is no day-pass tier, and there is no StackVerdict discount code, and I did not manufacture one.
Who Web Summit 2026 actually pays off for
Founders and startup teams get the clearest value here. 2,725 exhibiting startups and 1,857 investors (up 74% from 2024) attended in 2025. Both are event records. If your goal is investor meetings or press exposure, the density of investors and journalists in one hallway is genuinely hard to replicate.
AI product and growth teams get a broad read on enterprise AI adoption. AI Summit runs alongside SaaS Summit and Corporate Innovation Summit, so you can cross-reference AI hype against real enterprise buying conversations without changing badges.
The caveat that matters: if you want technical depth on transformer architectures or want a peer-reviewed research venue, Web Summit is not it. AI Summit’s sessions are framed around industry debate, not published research. A reader expecting NeurIPS-style density will find the AI content comparatively surface-level. For research depth, go to WAIC or World Summit AI instead.
What the AI startup path actually looks like
The relevant Web Summit route for AI founders is not a booth purchase. It is Web Summit’s startup programme, which is curated. Per Web Summit’s own startups page, accepted startups get three tickets, arranged access to investors, eligibility to apply for the PITCH competition, plus Startup Masterclasses and Mentor Hours.
Concretely: PITCH is the startup battle, 105 finalists on Centre Stage. Mentor Hours are pre-scheduled 45-minute group sessions with senior attendees. Investor meetings are 15-minute pre-scheduled slots booked in advance, not hallway chance. Startup Masterclasses cover pitch-deck construction, PR, and enterprise selling.
The application path is four steps: intro call about your goals, assessment and selection round, prep with a startup success manager, then the event. It is worth applying early because the selection is human-reviewed.
Web Summit’s November 2025 report with Crunchbase put AI as the top sector by post-event funding, with startups raising a combined $715.5M in the period following 2025’s event. That is the clearest single reason an AI founder might treat Web Summit as an investor-access play, and it’s a sourced number rather than a projection.
Web Summit does not publish a fixed public price for the startup package. If a third party quotes you an exact startup-ticket figure, confirm with Web Summit directly before writing the check.
My honest verdict on Web Summit 2026
I would book Web Summit for the investor density and the breadth. I would not book it for the AI content on its own.
If your KPI is investor meetings, press exposure, or a broad pulse-check on enterprise AI adoption, the €630 General Attendee ticket buys real access. 2025’s 71,386 attendees across 157 countries and 1,857 investors (both records) are the receipt. That scale creates deal-making opportunities a smaller AI-only conference cannot replicate.
If your KPI is AI technical depth, AI Summit is one stage among 20 running in parallel and its 2026 speaker list is not confirmed yet. Do not commit travel budget on the promise of a featured-speaker carousel. If AI Summit’s finalized lineup is your buying criterion, wait and check Web Summit’s tracks page closer to November before booking.
