A European developer conference brand landing in Bengaluru for the first time is worth watching. WeAreDevelopers has featured Steve Wozniak and Tim Berners-Lee at its Berlin editions, so the pedigree is real. The India edition is still assembling its speaker list, has not published a ticket price, and is running on an email waitlist. That is the whole argument. BIEC is one of India’s larger purpose-built exhibition venues, roughly 34 acres, LEED certified, and used for large B2B trade shows. WeAreDevelopers has booked Hall 2 specifically per the call for speakers on Sessionize, which means anyone using an aggregator entry that just says “BIEC” will still show up in the right city but miss the specific hall. Kempegowda International Airport is the standard fly-in point, and Tumkur Road puts the venue on the city’s northwestern side rather than the ORR tech corridor.
Late November is a sensible slot for a large indoor conference in Bengaluru. It lands after the monsoon and ahead of the mid-December holiday slowdown. You can plan travel around one two-day block without fighting weather.

Nine tracks, and the shape tells you more than any track name
The confirmed track list covers Build, Ship, Run, Secure, Test, Lead, Agentic Systems in Production, Modern Languages & Runtimes, and Data & AI Training Stack. Session titles are not public yet, so treat the track names as a positioning statement rather than an agenda.
Three tracks carry the argument. Build is the AI-coding-agents track, which puts prompt engineering and architecture decisions in the same room as day-to-day IDE work. Agentic Systems in Production is a full track dedicated to running agents at production scale, which is the same operational question I track when I write about MCP servers and agent orchestration. Secure focuses on supply-chain and threat modelling, which matters more each quarter as AI-generated code widens a team’s attack surface.
The two tracks I would drop into first: Agentic Systems in Production and Test. Test is the underrated one. QA on an AI-assisted codebase is not the same discipline as QA on a hand-written codebase, and most conferences treat evals as a slide in someone else’s keynote. Here it is a whole track.
This is not a beginner introduction to programming. If your team is already shipping software with an AI assistant in the loop, the track shape is aimed directly at you.
Nobody has confirmed a speaker, and the aggregators quoting names are guessing
The call for speakers on Sessionize closed July 24, 2026. Selections have not been published as of 2026-08-24. WeAreDevelopers’ brand history in Berlin (Steve Wozniak, Tim Berners-Lee, and other named draws) tells you the ceiling of what the organizer can pull, not the floor of who will be on stage in Bengaluru.
The call itself is a better signal. It solicits talks across 16 topic categories, with a stated preference for live coding and real-world case studies over polished keynote theatre. That is a practitioner-heavy positioning, closer to Strange Loop than to a vendor showcase. Any third-party guide already listing a confirmed India 2026 speaker roster is either recycling Berlin lineups or making up names.

Anchoring on the Berlin World Congress pricing is a bad guide because India-market pricing rarely tracks European pricing for the same brand. Wait for the actual tiers, then decide.
The buy-or-skip framing I would apply
For teams shipping software with AI in the pipeline, the track shape is genuinely useful. Build, Test, Agentic Systems in Production, and Secure hit the four questions your team is already arguing about internally: how to use coding agents responsibly, how to test the output, how to run agents past a demo, and how to keep the supply chain intact.
The honest caveat is that “on paper” is exactly where this event sits right now. No speakers, no prices, no session schedule. That does not mean the event will underdeliver. First editions from established brands often land. But anyone telling you today that this is worth $X or that a specific keynote is confirmed is guessing, not reporting.
I would join the waitlist, set a per-seat budget, and hold off on booking anything until the speaker list is public and the ticket tiers are live. If your team is already spending on the Berlin World Congress, let India’s first edition prove itself before you shift budget across.
