Who AAMAS 2027 is for, and who it is not
AAMAS 2027 is built for researchers and practitioners working directly on autonomous agents and multiagent systems. You will get real value if you are a multiagent researcher publishing in the field’s primary peer-reviewed venue, a PhD student targeting the main track or doctoral consortium, an applied engineer building agentic AI products who wants to see where coordination research is heading 12 to 24 months out, or an academic scouting collaborators.
You will not get value if you are a product manager or founder looking for demo booths and vendor pitches. AAMAS is peer-reviewed academic work first. The industry-and-applications track exists specifically because the rest of the program stays research-focused.
If your team is deciding between the main track and an affiliated workshop for a multiagent negotiation paper, timeline and risk tolerance usually decide it. Main track carries more prestige and a tougher review bar with a longer lead time; a workshop submission (once workshops are announced) offers faster turnaround for early-stage results. A common play for teams without a hard deadline: submit an early version to a workshop first, save the more complete result for the main track once it clears review.

If you are further from a submission but want to attend or send a team, wait for registration to open and budget conservatively; a JW Marriott property is not a cheap tier.
