Some listing sites show March 15-18 for the core conference days. That discrepancy likely reflects March 14 being a pre-conference training day rather than a main-stage day. Every other detail is unpublished. No 2027 keynote speaker on the site. No agenda. No pass tiers. No dollar figures. NVIDIA’s GTC 2027 travel-and-venue page names EventSphere as the exclusive housing provider, and NVIDIA warns publicly that impostor third-party companies routinely pose as the official booker. Book anywhere else and you may lose your deposit.
I use 2026 as a planning proxy, not a forecast

I narrow NVIDIA’s audience list before recommending the trip
NVIDIA lists developers, researchers, business leaders, IT decision-makers, creators, and ecosystem partners as the audience. That is a wide net. I think the trip is worth the money if you fit one of three narrower profiles:

GTC’s stage is not invite-only. NVIDIA runs a public call each cycle for research posters, session proposals, and hands-on training labs, and the poster program is how independent researchers and grad students get in front of the audience. Based on recent cycles, the 2027 window will open this summer or early fall and close weeks before the March event. Treat that as pattern, not promise. The free NVIDIA Developer Program and the NVIDIA Inception program (for startups) both hand you resources and preferred pricing without needing a GTC pass or an accepted submission.
San Jose logistics worth locking down now
The venue is at 150 West San Carlos Street, San Jose, CA 95113, in downtown Silicon Valley. Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International (SJC) is about three miles from the venue. San Francisco (SFO) is 38 miles and Oakland (OAK) is 39 miles. Both are workable but each adds a real commute. VTA light rail, Caltrain and Amtrak (both at Diridon Station), and BART via Milpitas cover public transit. The convention center’s underground garage is accessible from Market Street and South Almaden Boulevard. NVIDIA flags the Almaden/Woz lot one block away as the best-priced option.
If you are traveling internationally, request a visa invitation letter inside the registration form the moment it opens. NVIDIA emails the letter within a week of completed payment and refunds fully if your visa gets denied. San Jose averages 66°F in March. Pack light.
What to actually do right now
Do not book a hotel yet. Do not commit budget yet. Do not trust a third-party pricing guide.
