GIDS 2027, the Great International Developer Summit, runs April 27-30, 2027 in Bengaluru, India, the 20th edition organized by Saltmarch. All-Access is INR 20,000 and single-day is INR 6,500, both excluding 18% GST until July 31, 2026 (checked 2026-08-24, developersummit.com). The 150-plus sessions span architecture, AI-assisted development, distributed systems, and engineering leadership. Speakers and exact venue are still pending.
I track software and developer conferences the same way I track AI tool deals. The ideas debated on stage this year tend to show up in production code six months later. GIDS earned my attention for a different reason from most on the calendar. Twenty editions in the same city is a receipt, not a marketing claim. In a market where most conferences get acquired into something unrecognizable within five years, GIDS 2027 hits its 20th year, and the 2027 theme “What Endures” is a direct answer to the AI hype cycle everyone else is riding.
The opponent here is any aggregator site that already lists a confirmed 2027 speaker roster. Saltmarch has not published one. Anyone quoting names for an event 21 months out is guessing.
Twenty editions is the argument, not the tagline
GIDS 2027 gets my attention because Saltmarch built the year around one question: what actually endures in software engineering. That is a harder question than “what’s next,” and it is exactly the question a 2027 conference dominated by AI-generated code needs to force on the room.
Four pillars organize the program. What endures covers principles and patterns that outlast individual frameworks. What changes looks at how modern practices, including AI-assisted workflows, help systems adapt. What experience teaches is built on real failures and trade-offs. What comes next gives space to emerging voices and ideas.
That structure forces sessions to justify themselves against a harder bar than “this is new.” AI-assisted development sits alongside classic architecture and reliability content as one track among several, not a rebrand. A 20-year-old conference suddenly renaming itself an AI event would be the tell. GIDS refuses that move.
What GIDS 2027 confirmed, and what it did not
GIDS 2027 confirmed the dates (April 27-30, 2027) and the city (Bengaluru, India). The exact venue address is not published. Past editions have run at the J. N. Tata Auditorium inside the Indian Institute of Science campus, a roughly 750-seat venue, so treat that as a reasonable working assumption. Do not book a hotel around it. Confirm on the official GIDS site closer to the date.
The 2027 speaker lineup is also pending. A call for papers is open, which is standard 21 months out. The published program shape is confirmed: 150-plus sessions covering architecture, AI-assisted development, distributed systems, frontend, backend, DevOps, data, testing, reliability, and engineering leadership.
GIDS has never positioned itself as a single-language or single-framework event, and the 2027 edition holds that line.

The pricing math is straightforward
GIDS 2027 lists two ticket tiers on the official site, both excluding 18% GST.
| Ticket | Listed price | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| All-Access | INR 20,000 (+18% GST) | Full 4-day onsite access |
| Single-Day | INR 6,500 (+18% GST) | One selected day |
Prices increase after July 31, 2026 (checked 2026-08-24, developersummit.com). No published discount codes, no group rates, no alumni discount. If any of those get announced later, they will land on the official ticketing page, not through a third-party code.
Reality check on the math. INR 20,000 plus GST is roughly INR 23,600 for four days of a 20-year-old, session-dense conference in your own country. That is a meaningfully lower bar than a comparable European or North American pass plus travel, which can run into several thousand USD. Catered lunches, coffee, exhibitor access, and on-demand session recordings are included. Accommodation and transport are not.
Who I would send, and who I would not
GIDS is a practitioner event. You get value if you are a software architect, senior developer, engineering lead, or CTO at an India or APAC company deciding how much of your team’s workflow should change because of AI tools. You get less value if you are a junior developer with under a year of production experience. The architecture and reliability content assumes context you have not built yet.
Here is the buy-or-skip framing I apply to every event and every AI tool deal I cover. Buy the All-Access before July 31, 2026 if you can already name two or three session topics from the coverage areas that would help a project running on your team this year. Buy the Single-Day if budget is tight or you want to test the event before committing a full team next year. Wait if you specifically need to see the confirmed 2027 speaker list before writing the check.
I keep hearing the same argument from India-based engineering managers when they weigh GIDS against sending the whole team to an online course subscription. A course teaches syntax. GIDS gets you in a room with architects who have already made and lived with the mistakes your team is about to make. Send one architect and one senior backend engineer, split across the AI-assisted development and distributed systems tracks, then bring the notes back.
GIDS 2027 is 21 months out. Book the dates in your calendar. Wait on flights until the speaker list drops.
