Answer block: The ALIGN AI Executive Summit NYC 2026 wrapped Thursday, June 25 at City Winery NYC on Pier 57 in Chelsea. Data Science Connect ran the day as a curated executive summit, not an expo, with 18-plus senior data and AI speakers from Memorial Sloan Kettering, Synchrony, Stride, and IPG Mediabrands (checked 2026-08-24, datasciconnect.com/events/align-ai-summit-nyc). The paid all-access pass ran $2,499. The free apply-to-attend pass required a non-vendor organization with 5,000-plus employees.

Why I still cover a summit that already happened

I keep updating post-event pages because most executive summits publish nothing after the fact. The agenda goes offline, the speakers scatter, and the audience that decides which 2027 event to prioritize is left reading pre-event marketing copy. ALIGN NYC is the format most worth documenting after it runs: the value was in the roundtables, not the keynotes, and roundtables leave the lightest public trail.

The other reason. What senior enterprise data and AI leaders decided about governance, MCP, and agent orchestration in a room this small tends to surface in the tools and deals I cover three to six months later. Watching the executive tier is a leading indicator.

What ALIGN NYC 2026 actually was

ALIGN NYC 2026 was Data Science Connect’s invite-style, roundtable-first executive summit. Same organizer as AI Enterprise Conference and COLLIDE, same 2026 theme (“AI for Enterprise: From Pilots to Production”), sharply different format. Where the two larger conferences ran as trade-show-plus-conference days with 250-employee free-pass floors, ALIGN screened harder: registration bought general sessions, executive panels, and an invitation to at least one facilitated peer roundtable. No expo hall theater. No individual contributors.

The venue mattered. City Winery NYC on Pier 57 is a concert-and-wine space overlooking the Hudson. Fluorescent-lit convention halls actively suppress the candid conversation an executive summit is trying to buy; a waterfront wine venue does the opposite. The choice was deliberate.

The 2026 speaker lineup and what it signalled

The confirmed 2026 roster read as a deliberate cross-industry sweep, not a vertical stack. Named speakers included Isaac Wagner (VP Analytics and Insights, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center), Vida Williams (Chief Data Officer, Stride), Rachna Narem (Senior Managing Director, AI Innovation Lead, IPG Mediabrands), Nasim Khoshkhou (SVP Analytics and Data, Synchrony), Claire Dulaney Willet (Global Executive Director of Data and Analytics), Guy Merritt (CTO), Sean Weiss (Director of Embedded AI), and Ayan Dutta (Manager, Agentic AI). Raju Gorakhiya, Ruth Hubbard, Barclay Blair, Pablo Vega-Behar, Ravikanth Gadicherla, Sreeja Kaimal, Rohan Kodialam, Saurabh Mishra, Sam Sternberg, and Bob Fintel filled the rest of the announced list.

Notice the industries. Healthcare (Memorial Sloan Kettering) sat next to consumer finance (Synchrony), sat next to education (Stride), sat next to media (IPG Mediabrands). That mix is the entire point of the roundtable format. The best ideas at an executive summit rarely come from your own industry; they come from watching a cancer center’s data-governance constraint solve a media company’s model-risk problem sideways.

The presence of a dedicated agentic AI lead on the roster also signalled where the 2026 conversation actually went. Agent orchestration, tool-use governance, and MCP-adjacent architecture were the topics that ate the roundtable oxygen, not another round of “should we build or buy a chatbot”.

The pass math and why the free-pass bar is the product

Two ways in, both filters. The paid all-access pass ran $2,499 and let you skip the application. It included in-person access to general sessions, at least one executive roundtable, breakfast, lunch, a networking reception, and the exhibit hall. Data Science Connect described these seats as limited.

The free apply-to-attend pass required three things at once: a non-vendor organization, 5,000-plus employees, and a director-level-or-above role. All three, or you did not qualify.

Compare that to the sibling events, which is where the real signal lives.

Event2026 datePaid passFree-pass floor
ALIGN AI Executive Summit NYCJune 25$2,4995,000+ employees, director+
AI Enterprise Conference NYCSeptember 1$749250+ employees, senior role
COLLIDE Data + AI (Atlanta)October 1$749250+ employees, senior role

Pricing checked 2026-08-24 against datasciconnect.com. The 20x gap on employee-count floor is not a bureaucratic detail; it is the summit’s product. Anyone can pay $749 for a badge at the two larger conferences. What ALIGN sold at $2,499 was a room without vendors, without SMB owners, and without individual contributors. That curation is the entire value. The price and the 5,000-employee floor are not obstacles. They are the product.

Who ALIGN NYC was worth it for, and who should have skipped

I get asked this every year across the Data Science Connect series. My honest read from the 2026 edition.

Attend if you were a senior enterprise data or AI leader who valued a curated room of true peers over a crowded expo floor. If you qualified for the free pass, ALIGN was close to an automatic yes: a facilitated roundtable of your actual peers, in a waterfront venue, for the cost of a day. The paid $2,499 pass was justifiable if the goal was executive relationship-building, since one strong connection covers the ticket. For pure learning, $2,499 was hard to defend against a $749 conference pass at the sibling events.

Skip if you were an individual contributor, an SMB owner, or anyone hoping for hands-on technical training. ALIGN is a strategy and relationship event, not a workshop. Solo founders and small teams get more from the tested tools and deals I track than from an executive summit ticket. Vendors: sponsorship, not an attendee pass, is the real access play.

How to prep for the 2027 ALIGN series

Data Science Connect has not yet published 2027 dates. What is knowable from the 2026 pattern (checked 2026-08-24, datasciconnect.com/events):

The 2026 series ran ALIGN summits across NYC, Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, and Dallas alongside the two larger AI Enterprise and COLLIDE conferences. Expect the 2027 series to run a similar tiered circuit. If you qualified for the free pass in 2026, get on Data Science Connect’s list now; the allocation is described as rolling and selective, and applications submitted early tend to clear more easily. If you are weighing the paid tier, sit tight: 2027 pricing is unpublished, and the pass economics may shift now that the two sibling events (AI Enterprise, COLLIDE) have moved off the $499 tier onto $749.

The one thing I will keep an eye on is whether Data Science Connect keeps ALIGN as a single-day format or extends it. Roundtable-first events tend to grow into two-day formats once the audience stabilizes; ALIGN has run single-day for three cycles now, which suggests the organizer is protecting the intimacy on purpose.
